Ford Launches its new Ikon – Ford Ikon Diesel
Ford recently launched its new mid-size car FORD IKON. The Ikon comes with a refereshed look with a diesel engine option. Ford claims to capture the mid-size car segment with this newly launched Ford Ikon Diesel.
During the launch, Ford India President Michael Boneham said. “The new Ford Ikon continues to be a leader in its segment and caters to customers with a combination of superior fuel efficiency and improved engine performance.”
Although the Ikon is a refreshed one it has the same Duratorq TDCi diesel engine of Ford Fiesta which gives produces 68ps of max power @ 4000rpm and 160 nm torque @ 2000 rpm.
From the design front, the new Ford Ikon received a lot of changes to the interior and exterior European styling. It has a refreshed slick hood design and a much better front bumper. It comes with a modern instrument cluster with new graphics, tachometer, LED needles and LCD odometer display.
Apart from the above, Ford Ikon comes with lot of new accessories like the side skirts, reversing parking sensor, remote boot release kit, sporty seat covers, neck rest and floor mats.
The price of the New Ford Ikon has been fixed at 5.19 lakh for the diesel version and Rs. 4.59 for the petrol one (ex-showroom Delhi.)
The new Ikon comes in a total of 7 color options – Morello, Diamond White, Panther Black, Moondust Silver, Paprika Red, Platinum and Brush Steel.

i think this is going to create big fight between dezire,logan and ikon.question is who ll buy fiesta?
interior looks a like logan,but logan is spacious and we need to see this.

I WOULD PREFER THE NEW FORD IKON DIESEL OVER THE LOAGN CAUSE THE COST CUTTING IS EVIDENT EVER WHERE IN THE LOGAN, FROM INSIDE TO THE OUTSIDE THE NEW IKON CERTAINLY HAS A EDGE OVER THE LOGAN

Man Ford maybe a great car but the people (dealers) who sell the same are real shit. They need to learn from the likes of dealers of Hyundai, Honda and to an extend Maruti Suzuki.
Once in the showroom you are left to tender on your own…..less courteous and filled with ego.
Thanks for the blog and review on the Ford Ikon TDCi. The Car War for entry level Sedans has begun in real earnest; with the main contenders being Logan, Dzire and Ikon. The Ikon is a real Value for Money car and needs serious consideration. It looks and performance and cost it is better than the other two but needs to improve on its image as an expensive car to maintain.
I have seen the Ford Ikon Diesel & it seems good value for money though the body shell manufacturing cost & investment & profits would have been long been enjoyed by the Co but it is apprx 6 lacs in Uttar Pradesh !
I have spoken with a friend of mine & he has clearly given me a guideline – buy it, fine ! but getting it serviced, great difficulty as one has to wait & keep on requesting personnel to do the work. apart from that the real problem is that the dealer in Lucknow has Mahindra dealership as well ! so what happens is that Big guns owning Scorpio etc haunt the workshop & you will very well understand the plight of the normal customer. there are no takers for the brunt of such customers, threrfore thinking what to do ?
New ikon looks so smart. but why people go after swift etc?
ikon miss some important safety features like ABS,EBD and Air Bag.
Not only the looks and price matters.
good car good pick up. good milage also but due to not proper serviceby dealler it’s resell value is also low.

How much does a Ford Ikon cost to maintain, when compared to Swift Dzire or Logan? Did have a look at Ikon and found it value for money, but friends say that the maintenance is expensive when compared to the other two cars. Can any one help me on this pls? I agree with others the Ford Dealers are snobish.

Hello ,i have purchased the Ford Ikon TDCI from M/s Talera ford ,Yeravada,Pune(Maharashtra) in November 2009 .I am not satisfactory about the service that i have received from the dealer.Presently the most serious problem is hard steering,i have putup this problem to Talera thrice,but in vein.Being a civil engineer i have to travel daily 100-150 km for execution purpose and presently my both shoulders are paining because of the hard steering .You are kindly requested to please go through in this matter immediately and pl instruct the dealer to do the needful immediately (9822321909)
