Ford India plans to launch its small car by 2010
Ford India announced its plans for launching small car is going as per schedule and will be launched by 2010.
“The small-car from Ford is on track and we are expecting it to launch by early 2010,” Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham told reporters at the inauguration of the annual convention on ‘Navigating Uncertain Times,’ organised by the Madras Management Association.
Declining to give out its price, he said it would be available in petrol and diesel versions and would be of more than 1000 CC. The car would satisfy the government’s ‘requirements’ and be ‘highly competitive’ once launched, he said.
To a query, he said Ford would export the car to Asia Pacific and African countries by 2010-11.
Boneham also said the company’s plans to investment USD 500 million made last year would not be affected by the current global economic slowdown and assured that plans would proceed as per schedule.
“We will work with those vendors who have supported us in the past” he said.
Earlier in his inaugural address Boneham said for any multinational company ‘Corporate Intelligence’ plays a vital role, especially during an economic downturn.
