Meeting Moto Travelers Ashfaque Ahamed & Deepak Thimmoji


Recently xKmph India had the opportunity to meet two moto adventure traveler Ashfaque AhamedDeepak Thimmoji in Siliguri.

Ashfaque Ahamed from Bangalore (based in Dubai) has been travelling for the past few weeks starting his journey from Jaipur, riding through Nepal, Darjeeling, Bhutan, Tawang, Shillong, Guwahati and now on his way back home to Bangalore. His journey was rather extraordinary. He rode very close to the Mt Everest on the route very few would like to ride, rode through 3Kms long water tunnel in Bhutan due to land slide after Phobjikha and lastly celebrated Independence day while riding through Jaswantgarh (at 12AM) towards Tawang.

Not to mention during his journey he hiked twice… 1st to the Tigers’s Nest Paro and 2nd to the Double Root Bridge in Nongrait…

Deepak Thimmoji, an adventure motorcyclist based in Bangalore, who has traveled extensively around India and now on his big dream ride, riding through the South East Asian countries. This is his Solo Overland Expedition where he plans to ride through 12 South Asian Countries Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia,  Brunei and Philippines including India & Bangladesh.

His initial plan was to ride through Bangladesh, but due to the fact that Bangladesh immigration/custom officials dont understand Carnet system he had to re-route his ride through Siliguri – Guwahati – Imphal.

As we write this article he is has already reached the Tamu Border in Myanmar for his onward journey.
