[EICMA 2015] 2016 Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro & Pikes Peak
Since its launch the Ducati Multistrada was lacking much needed offroad capabilities aswell for becoming the favorite machine for the Adventure Motorcycle Riders. The 2016 Ducati Multistrada 1200 is now designed to take the riders anywhere. Born to travel and to be unstoppable on any type of terrain, the Multistrada 1200 Enduro is able to stand up to the stresses and strains of off-road riding,but also on any road one can imagine. A real globetrotter.
The 2016 Ducati Multistrada 1200 comes in two versions Enduro & Pikes Peak. While the Enduro is built to perform both on tarmac as well as offroad, the Pikes Peak is more tarmac Ready.
Ducati claims to have tested the new machine thoroughly so as to sustain the most difficult terrains. An upgraded frame and new twin-sided swing arm. To make it easier to roll, the machine gets a 19inch front and 17inch rear wheels (both spoked). The Enduro gets a electronic semi-active Sachs suspension in the front & rear , while Pikes peak gets High performance, manually adjustable Öhlins suspension front and back enhance handling and precision.
The 2016 Ducati Multistrada 1200 is powered by 160hp Ducati Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) mill and a whole new exhaust system. There are four riding modes available namely: Enduro, Touring, Sport and Urban.
Both versions feature first-class electronics suites, but the Enduro also includes a hill-hold program that keeps the bike from rolling backward on a grade for easier uphill starts. In fully dressed form, the Enduro features aluminum panniers of large capacity.
The 2016 Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro is available in three colour options – Ducati Red, Phantom Grey and Star White Silk and carries a price tag of 16,690 pounds in Europe. An array of accessories will be available for the bikes to customize according to the needs of the Adventure Riders.
The prices of the Multistrada 1200 Enduro start from £16,690 or about Rs 16.5 Lakh in Europe.
